We design weddings and events that uniquely reflect the personalities and heritage of our clients. Finding ways to let your personality shine thru your wedding design is one of our favorite aspects of the creative process.
We enjoyed the Royal Wedding and for us, the best part of viewing the experience was seeing the unique ways in which Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, (now the Duke & Duchess of Sussex) thoughtfully united cultures, and subtly added a modern touch to centuries old traditions. We decided to share a few our pointers to help you with your design.
We encourage you to take the first step and reflect on the type of ambiance you want to create and what traditions you want to integrate into the day. Are you going for something formal and upscale or do you prefer a more rustic, relaxed elegance? Is there a family member or cultural element that you want to honor? There are so many directions that you can go. Once you’ve decided what vibe best fits you, follow these suggestions:
- Pick a color palette (we recommend no more than three colors), and weave it through everything from save-the-date cards to reception place settings and favors. Below is a vision board for a black, white and brass design we created earlier this year.
- Select a font family and use it to unify your invitations, place cards, escort cards, programs, menus and any other stationery. Prairie Letter Shop did a magnificent job with the paper suite.
- Integrate a motif or monogram into each element of your wedding for a sophisticated, well-thought out look. Imagine a monogrammed silk bouquet wrap flowing beautiful in the wind as your first look is captured on film.
